The paragliding club “ParaGhost” from Doboj has been in existence since 2009 and to this day has around 15 active fliers who primarily use the airstrips on Ozren. The club has all the equipment needed for this attractive sport: all-terrain vehicles, navigation devices, tandem wing and protective equipment, cameras, hand-held radio stations, etc.
Paragliding courses are conducted in cooperation with “AirDrenaline” paragliding school from Banja Luka. The “ParaGhost” club organized as its first event the “Paraglider Show Contest Ozren 2010” in which clubs from the region participated. During this event, promotional, cultural and entertainment events were also included. The central location of the event was Okolišta, the main start from the Ozren peak Gostilj, and the reserve from Ruja.
The aim of the competition was to present the area of Mount Ozren to paragliders, tourists and the media as an attractive area with ideal climatic and physical-geographic features and a rich offer of content and services in sports and recreational activities. It was also a preparation for the organization of a higher level competition in 2011, entry into the calendar of paragliding events and registration in the World Federation for Aerosports and Aeronautical World Records (FAI).
The organizer of the Review Competition is the “Paragost” Paragliding Club, and the co-organizer is the Doboj Tourist Organization.
